Toprak Razgatlıoğlu stamped his authority on the 2025 Misano WorldSBK weekend, securing an electrifying hat-trick of wins in front of over 76,000 spectators. The Turkish sensation on his BMW machine surged within just nine points of championship leader Nicolò Bulega, lighting up the title race with high-octane suspense.
A Commanding Display from Toprak
Having already completed a hat-trick at Misano in 2024 aboard a Yamaha, Razgatlıoğlu returned to the Adriatic circuit and repeated the feat with BMW. Starting from pole in Race 2, he delivered a clinical performance, pulling away with a blistering pace that left the competition trailing nearly ten seconds behind. With the fastest lap marked for the seventh time this season, Toprak underlined the dominance of his evolving synergy with the BMW package.
“I want to thank my team, who did an incredible job this weekend. We managed to improve the bike in every session. I had a big problem at Turn 4 all weekend, but I managed to handle it in the race. I pushed very hard because I knew Nicolò would come back fast. I’m very happy with these three victories,” commented the reigning fan-favorite, now second overall.

Bulega Salvages Points After Superpole Setback
It was a weekend of damage control for Nicolò Bulega. A collision with Axel Bassani during the Superpole Race pushed him to the fourth row for Race 2. Yet, the Ducati star displayed remarkable composure and resilience, carving his way up the order with incisive overtakes on Bautista, Lowes, Petrucci, and Locatelli to claim a valuable second place.
“It wasn’t a perfect weekend. I had a bit of bad luck, so I’m happy with second place in Race 2. By the time I moved up, Toprak had already built a massive gap. Trying to catch him would’ve been reckless. He was simply superior today—congrats to him and BMW,” Bulega admitted.
Bautista Back on the Box, Locatelli Impresses
Alvaro Bautista returned to podium form after a stretch of six races without a top-three finish. Battling sweltering temperatures that affected grip and braking, the Spaniard fought tooth and nail early in the race, particularly in a fierce contest with Bulega.
“The conditions were brutal. I felt good in the morning, but as the heat intensified, the bike became harder to manage. I made several errors going wide, but I fought my way back into contention and I’m pleased to finish on the podium,” said Bautista, hopeful of regaining his rhythm moving forward.

Andrea Locatelli remained a model of consistency for Yamaha, securing three top-five finishes across the weekend. His grit showed in Race 2, holding off pressure from Danilo Petrucci and Iker Lecuona to secure fourth. Garrett Gerloff impressed with an eighth-place finish, while Michael van der Mark sneaked into the top 10 for BMW. Notably, falls from Andrea Iannone and Scott Redding disrupted mid-pack battles.
Championship Shake-Up: Toprak Closes the Gap
With six rounds remaining, Toprak Razgatlıoğlu’s Misano sweep has injected fresh adrenaline into the WorldSBK title hunt. Just nine points separate him from Bulega, with momentum squarely on BMW’s side as the circus heads to Donington Park—a track Toprak has historically mastered.
On the constructors’ front, Ducati still leads by 42 points over BMW, with Yamaha in third. Among independent riders, Danilo Petrucci continues to dominate his category.
Misano 2025: A Defining Chapter in the Season
Toprak Razgatlıoğlu’s flawless weekend at Misano has not only shaken the leaderboard but also rekindled the flames of an enthralling championship duel. As the tension builds toward Donington in July, the Toprak vs. Bulega showdown promises fireworks all the way to the season’s dramatic finale.
