The second wave of the Battlefield 6 Open Beta is live and this time, DICE is rolling out the heavy artillery. Following a record-setting Weekend 1, developer DICE has confirmed significant changes for Weekend 2, including a new playlist rotation system, a flexible matchmaking tool, and official start times.

Mark your calendars. Weekend 2 starts Thursday, August 14 at 8am UTC (1am PT) and wraps up Sunday, August 17. With over 500,000 concurrent players on Steam last weekend, anticipation is running hot to see if Battlefield 6 can break its own record.

DICE is turning up the intensity with a fresh mix of game modes. The All-Out Warfare playlist now includes Breakthrough, Conquest, and Rush, offering players a dynamic rotation of battle experiences. The idea? Test player preferences and keep favorite modes live simultaneously.
“We’re delivering more variety and choice with more playlists rotating between different game modes,” DICE noted. Expect to see these changes update daily during the beta to maximize feedback though this won’t continue post-launch.

🔍 Custom Search: Flex Your Preferences
One of the most requested features custom matchmaking is here, though it’s not a full Server Browser. The new Custom Search allows players to mix and match map-mode combos, like prioritizing Conquest on Siege of Cairo.
This feature only works with Open Weapon mode playlists, so while it’s a step toward freedom of choice, don’t expect full control just yet.
💬 s1mple Gives Battlefield a Nod
Even esports royalty is getting in on the action. CS2 legend Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev revealed on Twitch that he plans to jump into the second beta.
“Guys, I want to try Battlefield 6. I didn’t have time to play the first beta test. I would like to fly into the second wave… This game looks really great.”
