Another crash ends Roglic’s Giro hopes as the Slovenian bows out in Stage 16.
Slovenian powerhouse Primoz Roglic, riding for Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe, has officially withdrawn from the 2025 Giro d’Italia. The decision comes after a series of brutal crashes that undermined his campaign for the maglia rosa, culminating in yet another fall during Stage 16.
Persistent Struggles and Mounting Setbacks
Roglic’s Giro had been marred by adversity from early on. He notably crashed on Stage 9 during a sterrato sector, a blow that cost him valuable time and compromised his form heading into the crucial second week. Despite keeping the extent of his injuries under wraps, the signs were clear: Roglic was not himself in the high mountains.
