The Laver Cup 2026 heads back to London’s O2 Arena, and the schedule gives the weekend its shape. Across three days and five sessions, points get more valuable as the event goes on. That means an early lead guarantees nothing, and a team that falls behind always has a way back. Here’s the full Laver Cup 2026 schedule, how the scoring works, and the rules that shape every lineup decision.
Laver Cup 2026 Dates, Venue and Captains
The ninth edition of the Laver Cup runs from Friday 25 September to Sunday 27 September 2026 at The O2 in London. The event returns to the venue that hosted it in 2022, when Team World won its first title.
The captains are the same as last year. Yannick Noah leads Team Europe, with Tim Henman as vice-captain. Andre Agassi leads Team World, with Pat Rafter alongside him.
Team World arrives as defending champion. It beat Team Europe 15-9 in San Francisco last year, when Taylor Fritz clinched the title with a 6-3, 7-6(4) win over Alexander Zverev. That was Team World’s third crown after back-to-back wins in 2022 and 2023. Europe still leads the all-time series 5-3, but momentum has recently favored Team World.
Laver Cup 2026 Schedule: Full Order of Play by Session
The event is split into five sessions. Friday and Saturday each have a day session and a night session. Sunday has a single session to finish the weekend. All times are local (BST).
| Day | Session | Start Time | Matches | Points per Win |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Friday 25 Sept | Session 1 (Day) | 1:00pm | Match 1 (Singles), Match 2 (Singles) | 1 |
| Friday 25 Sept | Session 2 (Night) | 7:00pm | Match 3 (Singles), Match 4 (Doubles) | 1 |
| Saturday 26 Sept | Session 3 (Day) | 1:00pm | Match 5 (Singles), Match 6 (Singles) | 2 |
| Saturday 26 Sept | Session 4 (Night) | 7:00pm | Match 7 (Singles), Match 8 (Doubles) | 2 |
| Sunday 27 Sept | Session 5 (Day) | 12:00pm | Match 9 (Doubles), then Matches 10–12 (Singles) if required | 3 |
Friday 25 September: Day 1 Sets the Tone
The opening day has three singles matches and one doubles match, each worth one point. That makes a maximum of four points available. Both sessions end in the same way: the doubles match closes the night, usually under the brightest spotlight of the day.
Saturday 26 September: Day 2 Doubles the Stakes
Saturday follows the same pattern of three singles and one doubles, but every win is now worth two points. A strong Saturday can turn a narrow Friday deficit into a solid lead going into the final day.
Sunday 27 September: Day 3 Decides the Laver Cup
Sunday reverses the order. Doubles opens play at 12pm, followed by up to three singles matches. Each is worth three points. The final session runs only as long as it needs to. Once one team reaches 13 points, the competition is over.
How Laver Cup Scoring Works: 1, 2 and 3-Point Matches
A total of 24 points is available across 12 scheduled matches, and the first team to reach 13 points lifts the trophy. Every match is best-of-three sets with ad scoring. If the players split the first two sets, a 10-point match tiebreak replaces the third set, which keeps matches short and intense.
Because the points increase each day, the Laver Cup 2026 schedule builds toward the end. A team that sweeps Friday banks only four points. A single Sunday win is worth three. No lead is safe until the last day.
What Happens at 12-12? The Laver Cup Decider Explained
If the teams are tied 12-12 after all 12 matches, a thirteenth match is added: an overtime doubles match known as the Decider. Unlike the regular matches, it is played as a single full set with ad scoring, with a tiebreak at 6-6 if needed. The winning pair takes the Laver Cup.
Minimum Matches and the Sunday Exhibition
At least nine matches will be played. Even a team that wins all eight matches across Friday and Saturday reaches only 12 points, so it still needs a win on Sunday. If only one match is needed on the final day, an exhibition match follows the trophy ceremony, so fans with Sunday tickets still see more than one match.
Laver Cup 2026 Rosters: Team Europe vs Team World
| Team Europe (Captain: Yannick Noah) | Team World (Captain: Andre Agassi) |
|---|---|
| Carlos Alcaraz | Taylor Fritz |
| Alexander Zverev | Alex de Minaur |
| Casper Ruud | Alexander Bublik |
| Flavio Cobolli | Francisco Cerundolo |
| Jakub Mensik | Learner Tien |
| Rafael Jodar | Brandon Nakashima |
Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev give Europe a strong top two. Casper Ruud makes his sixth straight appearance. Team World relies on Fritz, the hero of 2025, and de Minaur, backed by a mix of experienced players and newer names.
Laver Cup Player Participation Rules Captains Must Work Around
Noah and Agassi can’t simply play their best players in every match. The rules require them to use the whole roster:
- Every player must play at least one singles match on Friday or Saturday.
- No player can play more than two singles matches across the three days.
- At least four of the six players on each team must play doubles.
- No doubles pairing can be used more than once, except in the Decider at 12-12.
- Lineups are set day by day, with captains exchanging lineup cards before play begins.
These rules turn lineup selection into a real tactical decision. Each captain has to decide when to play his stars. A player used twice in singles over the first two days can’t play singles on Sunday, when the points are highest. Saving a star for the final day means exposing a weaker player earlier.
