The PUBG Mobile World Cup 2026 (PMWC 2026) is the mid-season international tournament of the 2026 PUBG Mobile competitive calendar. Originally slated for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the event was relocated to Paris, France on May 20. Thirty-two teams will compete for a share of a $3 million prize pool across three stages, with the action running from August 6 through August 16, 2026.
Tournament Format
The PMWC 2026 uses a three-stage structure that progressively eliminates squads over eleven days of play. Here is how it breaks down.
Group Stage: August 6 to 9
32 teams are split into two groups of 16. Each group plays 12 matches. The top 5 teams from each group advance directly to the Grand Finals. Teams finishing 6th through 13th in each group drop into the Survival Stage. The bottom 3 teams in each group are eliminated outright.
Survival Stage: August 11 to 12
16 teams play another 12 matches across two days. Only the top 6 squads survive and move on to the Grand Finals. The remaining 10 teams are knocked out of the tournament.
Grand Finals: August 14 to 16
The Grand Finals feature 16 teams: 10 from the Group Stage and 6 from the Survival Stage. A maximum of 18 matches are scheduled, with 6 matches per day. On Day 3 (August 16), the Smash Rule format applies, which can end the competition early if a team builds an insurmountable lead. Map Rotation
Every six-match block follows the same map rotation throughout the tournament.
| Match | Map |
|---|---|
| 1 | Rondo |
| 2 | Erangel |
| 3 | Erangel |
| 4 | Erangel |
| 5 | Miramar |
| 6 | Miramar |
Erangel dominates the rotation with three out of six games, so teams that perform well on that map carry a real advantage. We think the heavy Erangel weighting will reward squads with strong mid-game rotations and zone-reading ability.

What to Watch For
The PMWC 2026 format is punishing. Six teams per group are eliminated before the Survival Stage even begins, and another ten go home after that round. Only 16 of 32 squads reach the Grand Finals, and the Smash Rule on the final day means a dominant team can close out the tournament before all 18 matches are played. Honestly, the structure rewards consistency across many matches more than a single pop-off game, which is exactly the kind of format that separates world-class rosters from one-hit wonders.
The move from Riyadh to Paris places the event alongside the broader Esports World Cup schedule, stacking the week with competition across multiple titles. For fans planning to watch, every match day starts at 14:00 EEST and wraps around 18:10 EEST, keeping the broadcast window tight and consistent.
