Group Stage Schedule: November 14–17
The group stage is the busiest part of the week, with 48 group matches in four days, all played over the best of nine legs.
Opening Weekend: Double Sessions on Saturday and Sunday
The first weekend has afternoon and evening sessions on both days, with eight matches in each session. That adds up to 32 matches across the opening weekend, so most of the field will have played at least once by Sunday night.
Monday and Tuesday: The Group Deciders
The schedule moves to evening-only sessions on Monday, November 16 and Tuesday, November 17. The remaining 16 group matches are played across these two nights, and the final round decides who wins each group.
These are the sessions with the most at stake. Only the group winner goes through to the last 16, so in a group of three, the last match often settles everything. A top seed who loses his opener may arrive on Tuesday night needing a big win to stay in the tournament.
Knockout Stage Schedule: November 18–22
Once the 16 group winners are confirmed, the Grand Slam becomes a straight knockout, and the matches get longer each round.
| Round | Dates | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Last 16 | Wednesday–Thursday, November 18–19 | Best of 19 legs |
| Quarter-finals | Friday–Saturday, November 20–21 | Best of 31 legs |
| Semi-finals | Sunday, November 22 (1:00pm) | Best of 31 legs |
| Final | Sunday, November 22 (7:30pm) | Best of 31 legs |
Last 16: Wednesday and Thursday
The eight last-16 matches are split across two evening sessions. The format more than doubles from the group stage to the best of 19 legs, so the players who got through on fast starts now need to keep their level for longer.
Quarter-Finals: Friday and Saturday
The quarter-finals move to the best of 31 legs, the same format used for the rest of the tournament. Spreading the four quarter-finals over two nights gives each match its own stage, and the winners collect at least £60,000 each as semi-finalists.
Finals Day: Sunday, November 22
The tournament ends with a double session. The semi-finals start at 1:00pm, and the final begins at 7:30pm. Both finalists play two best-of-31-leg matches on the same day, so stamina matters as much as scoring. The champion lifts the Eric Bristow Trophy and £200,000.
