Jordan Pickford set to extend Everton stay
Jordan Pickford, the England goalkeeper, has agreed terms on a new contract that will keep him at Everton.
The 31-year-old arrived at Goodison Park in 2017 for £30m — a British record fee for a goalkeeper at the time — and has since become a cornerstone of the club. Sources have told BBC Sport an official announcement is expected in the coming days.
Pickford’s current deal runs until 2027. He has been named Everton’s player of the year four times, including each of the last three seasons.
That continuity is a clear boost for the Toffees. Earlier this month the club secured captain James Tarkowski on a new two-year contract, another signal of stability as Everton plan ahead.
Since joining from boyhood club Sunderland, Pickford has made 329 appearances for Everton. He has been central to the club’s survival in the Premier League through managerial changes, financial rule breaches and points deductions.
Internationally Pickford has won 79 caps for England and has been the Three Lions’ first-choice keeper since the 2018 World Cup. He recently surpassed a long-standing record held by Gordon Banks, keeping an eighth straight clean sheet in England’s 3-0 win over Wales.
He last conceded for England more than a year ago, in a 2-1 Nations League loss to Greece.
