Cash Pens New Villa Contract Until 2029
Aston Villa have secured the future of Matty Cash, with the Poland international signing a new three-and-a-half-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2029.
The versatile defender, who arrived from Nottingham Forest in 2020, has established himself as a key figure at Villa Park, making 193 appearances to date. Cash’s previous contract was set to run until 2027.
Cash’s recent form has been impressive, with the 28-year-old netting his second goal of the season in Villa’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City on Sunday.
“I’m playing with a lot of confidence,” Cash said post-match. “To be honest, I’ve always had a good shot, I’ve just never really shown it in games. This season it seems to be going my way, and every time I get the ball on the edge of the box, I’ve got confidence and feel like I’m going to hit the target a lot of the time.”

Cash, whose mother is Polish, has become a first-choice right-back for both Villa and his national team. He made his international debut in 2021 and represented Poland at the 2022 World Cup.
