Team Vitality’s star AWPer Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut has been crowned as the MVP of Intel Extreme Masters Season XVI – Winter. Following Team Vitality’s brilliant victory over Virtus.pro in the finals of IEM Winter 2021, ZywOo finally gets his MVP badge right at the end of the year after the HLTV vote.

The French player has previously been crowned as the year’s MVP in 2019 and 2020. ZywOo also holds the record for the most MVPs claimed during a debut year, as well as being the youngest player to be ranked first in HLTV’s Top-20 ranking.
The French AWPer remains among the main contenders to the title of the year’s MVP in 2021, going toe-to-toe with Natus Vincere’s star sniper Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, although the HLTV ranking and s1mple’s MVP awards give the Ukrainian player a significant lead in this metric.
