The Russian player Abdulkhalik “degster” Gasanov was put on the transfer list by Team Spirit, the organization has announced today.

This decision came as a surprise, as Team Spirit recently placed 3-4 on PGL Major Antwerp 2022, and placed in the top 5 ranking of the best teams in the world.
degster joined Team Spirit on loan in January 2021 from ESPADA. After top-4 at IEM Katowice 2021, Gasanov secured his place on the team. Last year Team Spirit managed to win a couple of tier-2 tournaments and qualified for PGL Major Stockholm 2021. But on Major, the CIS team didn’t show the desired result, and two players left the team – sdy and mir. degster, magixx and Choper became part of the new roster. Two players from Spirit Academy, s1ren and Patsi, joined the team at the beginning of the year.
New Spirit’s roster managed to qualify for Major again and showed a brilliant run. The team made top-8 at the Challengers and Legends Stage, and secured the spot in the playoffs. There they beat the Brazilian team FURIA, but lost against future champions – FaZe Clan, and finished in 3th-4th place.
Nikita Cheshir Chukalin, Spirit’s CEO said the next:
Abdul is a very talented player who has proven to be one of the best not only in the region but worldwide during his time in Spirit. That’s why the decision we made was so tough. However, we have a specific plan for the development of the project regarding CS:GO, and we will not disregard it, even for the most talented player. We could not come to an understanding with Abdul so it was mutually agreed to part ways. We understand what kind of player we need and will decide on a replacement in the near future. I thank Abdul for this year and a half of work in our team and I wish him good luck on his journey.

The new Spirit’s roster will debut at IEM Cologne 2022, which will take place at the beginning of July. The team will start the journey at the event from the Play-In Stage.
