In one of the most electric quarterfinal clashes of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, paiN Gaming rallied back from a slow start to defeat fellow Brazilians FURIA in a high-octane best-of-three series.

MOUZThe series kicked off with FURIA flexing on Nuke, dominating with a confident 13:6 win. But just as the script seemed set, paiN struck back on Anubis with a 13:8 retaliation, riding the momentum into a wild third map on Inferno.
Down 1:7 early, paiN staged a monstrous turnaround — clawing back to 12:8, surviving a FURIA push to 12:12, then closing it out with four straight rounds to seal the series 2–1.

The hero of the hour? nqz. Delivering when it mattered most, the AWPer landed crucial picks and clutched rounds, finishing with 56 kills, 41 deaths, and an 81.8 ADR. His precision on Anubis and Inferno powered paiN’s upset win.
paiN now await the winner of the FaZe vs The MongolZ showdown in the semifinals. FURIA, meanwhile, bow out in 5th–8th place, securing a respectable $45,000 prize.

Earlier in the day, MOUZ locked in their semifinal spot with a gritty victory over Spirit, grinding out a 2–1 win in a series full of tense momentum swings.
Spirit struck first in a 25:21 overtime marathon on Mirage, but MOUZ kept their cool, answering with a controlled 13:9 on Dust2 and holding off a late push to close out Nuke 13:10.
Match MVP — Lotan “Spinx” Giladi
Spinx was a rock for MOUZ throughout the series, putting up 77 frags, 60 deaths, and an 84.4 ADR. From multikill entries to clean retakes, his consistency across maps tipped the balance in MOUZ’s favor.
With the win, MOUZ are now set to battle the winner of Vitality vs NAVI in what promises to be a semifinal slugfest. Spirit exit the tournament with $45,000 and a solid top-8 finish.
