European Football Weekend Prediction Digest, February 7-8, 2026

06.02.2026, 09:47

Weekends traditionally delight us with vibrant football. On 7 and 8 February, we are in for some fierce battles in the English Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga and many other tournaments. Staying true to form, the TipsGG analytics team has prepared for you a list of the most interesting bets on Saturday and Sunday matches in our digest.

Manchester United vs Tottenham

07:30Finished07.02.2026

The rise of Manchester United since Michael Carrick took charge has created a favourable backdrop for the hosts: a run of seven Premier League matches without defeat and three consecutive wins under the new manager reflect an improved balance between attack and game control. The home factor strengthens this impression, as Old Trafford remains an arena where the Red Devils consistently pick up points, even if their defence still lacks complete reliability.

Tottenham, on the other hand, approach this away fixture under pressure from a prolonged winless run and external tension surrounding the team. The draw against Manchester City showed their potential but also highlighted recurring problems with starting concentration, which have repeatedly led to dropped points. The visitors’ squad limitations reduce their in-game flexibility, while the hosts maintain relative squad stability and their usual structure.

Oleksandr Vaskov - Sports Data Manager

In four of the last five home matches of the hosts and in four of the last six matches of the guests, there were fewer than four goals scored. I’ll play the under total and the hosts not to lose.

Match bet: Manchester United Double Chance (1X) + Total Under 3.5 (odds 1.95)

Wolfsburg vs Borussia Dortmund

09:30Finished07.02.2026

Wolfsburg are just one step away from the relegation zone. Although the Wolves finished the calendar year 2025 strongly, the start of the second half of the season has been extremely difficult. The first alarming signal was the away thrashing by Bayern (1:8). It’s unlikely the club harboured any illusions about beating the champions, but conceding eight goals exposed catastrophic defensive problems. The last two Bundesliga rounds also brought disappointment. While the game against Köln showed some positive signs (a fairly even battle against a favourite), the fiasco against direct relegation rival Mainz (3:1 defeat) indicates that the Green-Whites are closer to relegation than ever before.

For Dortmund, recent results look mixed. On one hand, the Yellows lost their final two Champions League group-stage matches, missing out on direct qualification to the round of 16 and landing a tricky Atalanta in the playoffs. On the other hand, the team capitalised on Bayern’s slip-ups in the league, reigniting the race for the Meisterschale — their gap to the leaders is now just 6 points.

Oleksii Svyrydov - TipsGG Esports Expert

I expect at least three goals in this match. Borussia’s attacking style will face an unreliable Wolfsburg defence, while the hosts are highly motivated to make the most of home advantage. I believe the visitors have a significantly better chance of taking all three points.

Match bet: Borussia Dortmund Double Chance (X2) + Total Over 2.5 (odds 2.02)

Burnley vs West Ham

10:00Finished07.02.2026
0BurnleyEngland
2West HamEngland

A crucial relegation six-pointer will take place at Turf Moor, where two teams currently in the drop zone will face off. However, unlike the league’s main outsiders Wolves, both Burnley and West Ham still have a realistic chance of survival.

If the Clarets manage to pick up points during the season, it’s largely thanks to their home ground: 10 of their 15 points across all competitions this season have come at Turf Moor. While this is one of the worst records in the league, it is exactly what keeps Burnley in the fight.

West Ham, in turn, show roughly equal effectiveness at home and away — 10 points in each case. Lately the Hammers have shown signs of life: three wins in their last five matches across all competitions have significantly lifted the mood among the fans.

A draw suits neither side. Burnley are already 11 points adrift of safety, while West Ham are 6 points behind. Extra drama comes from the fact that teams directly above the relegation zone will also play each other this weekend, meaning someone is guaranteed to drop points.

Oleksandr Halian - Sports Data Manager

Given the huge importance of this fixture and the far-from-ideal defensive play of both teams, it’s logical to expect open, nervy football. That’s why it makes sense to look at both teams scoring, as well as disciplinary statistics.

Match bet: Both Teams to Score – Yes (odds 1.70)

Alternative bet: Total Yellow Cards Over 3.5 (odds 1.90)

Arsenal vs Sunderland

10:00Finished07.02.2026
3ArsenalEngland
0SunderlandEngland

The current situation before the match clearly favours Arsenal, who have managed to regain a sense of stability and control in a short space of time. The thrashing of Leeds away and a controlled, if minimal, win over Chelsea in the League Cup signal a return to rhythm and confidence — especially important given the recent slip-ups of their rivals. The home factor further strengthens the Gunners’ position, as they play structured football at the Emirates and rarely suffer prolonged collapses.

The visitors have become the surprise package of the season, picking up points against opponents of any level. In their last head-to-head meeting against the Gunners, Sunderland equalised in stoppage time to avoid defeat (1:2).

Oleksandr Vaskov - Sports Data Manager

It will be much tougher for the Black Cats away from home, but I expect Sunderland to put up a decent fight and manage to score at least one goal at the Emirates.

Match bet: Both Teams to Score – Yes (odds 2.44)

Genoa vs Napoli

12:00Finished07.02.2026
2GenoaItaly
3NapoliItaly

Ruslan Malinovskyi’s stunning free-kick goal against Bologna earned him the Serie A Goal of the Month award for January. The fantastic comeback from 0:2 seemed to have injected tremendous confidence into Genoa, however, already in the next round they suffered a painful defeat to Lazio. The game followed an almost identical script: the Griffins conceded two goals, a converted penalty started their fightback, and the Genoese even managed to equalise. But the joy was short-lived — on the 90+10 minute Danilo Cataldi converted a penalty in favour of the visitors.

Napoli’s home victory over Fiorentina (2:1) can hardly be called convincing. The Neapolitans started both halves powerfully, scoring quick goals, but their attempt to “shut up shop” almost ended in disaster. The Viola pulled one goal back and looked significantly sharper than their opponents in the closing stages. The Champions League elimination combined with a 3:0 league thrashing by Juventus is creating a suffocating atmosphere among the fans. The reigning Italian champions are now 9 points behind Inter. Any further dropped points could finally extinguish all title hopes. Or perhaps that cross has already been drawn?

Oleksii Svyrydov - TipsGG Esports Expert

Over their last five matches Genoa have scored 9 goals. Despite a not particularly high xG, the team demonstrates excellent finishing. The X-factor remains Malinovskyi’s form — he collected 4 goal+assist points in January. Combined with the visitors’ unstable defence, this gives grounds to expect at least one goal from the hosts.

Match bet: Genoa Individual Total Over 0.5 (odds 1.77)

Fortuna Sittard vs Sparta Rotterdam

15:00Finished07.02.2026
2Fortuna SittardNetherlands
2Sparta RotterdamNetherlands

Sittard will host the next round of Eredivisie action, where the home side — sitting in 11th place in the table — welcome Sparta, a team in excellent current form and occupying 5th position in the championship.

Fortuna find themselves in a fairly comfortable, yet still uncertain position: they are 8 points clear of the relegation zone, but only 7 points away from the Conference League qualification places. Home matches are the key factor in their stability. In the Eredivisie, the team have collected 17 of their 25 total points at home, which gives hope for a decent season finish for a typical mid-table Dutch side.

Sparta, meanwhile, are on a truly impressive run — five consecutive league victories. This streak, combined with slip-ups from their rivals, allows the Rotterdam side to seriously think about a historic return to European competitions for the first time in 40 years. Currently sitting fifth, they are just 3 points behind Ajax and Nijmegen (who occupy 4th and 3rd places respectively). At the same time, AZ Alkmaar — the nearest pursuer — is also only 3 points behind Sparta.

An important factor in the battle for positions is goal difference: Sparta have the worst goal difference (-7) among the top 8 teams. So despite the excellent recent results, Maurice Steijn’s side still have plenty of work to do.

Oleksandr Halian - Sports Data Manager

In recent years head-to-head encounters have been dominated by the visitors: Sparta have not lost to Sittard since April 2022. During this period the Rotterdam side have won four times and drawn three times. Although Sittard are traditionally a difficult opponent at home, the current form of the guests makes one lean towards a positive result for them.

Match bet: Sparta Rotterdam Handicap (0) (odds 1.79)

Alavés vs Getafe

08:00Finished08.02.2026
0AlavésSpain
2GetafeSpain

Alavés have settled comfortably around the middle of the table. Victories over Betis and Espanyol allowed them to pull clear of the relegation zone, which this season is extremely tight: the gap between 9th and 18th place is only 3 points. The Glorious Ones are definitely not lagging behind in this fight: in the last five rounds Eduardo Coudet’s team collected 7 points, and their recent defeat to Atlético (0:1) was genuinely competitive. The club also exited the Copa del Rey, losing to Real Sociedad. An unconverted penalty by Toni Martínez gave the Basques a chance they took.

While the hosts in 10th place feel relatively comfortable, the visitors are one step away from the abyss — 17th place. Getafe have not won in La Liga for eight rounds in a row; their last success dates back to November 2025 (a minimal victory over Elche). The Dark Blues’ away form is significantly worse than at home: on the road they concede on average 0.8 goals more per game.

Oleksii Svyrydov - TipsGG Esports Expert

I recommend paying attention to the total goals. Both teams are not particularly prolific, and the early kick-off time usually does not favour a high number of goals. In the previous five meetings between these sides, the total number of goals never exceeded two. If choosing a favourite, Alavés currently look significantly more convincing than their opponent.

Match bet: Alavés Double Chance (1X) + Total Under 2.5 (odds 1.75)

AZ Alkmaar vs Ajax

08:30Finished08.02.2026
1AZ AlkmaarNetherlands
1AjaxNetherlands

At the AFAS Stadion, an extremely interesting match will take place — not only from the perspective of the battle for European places, but also as a possible attempt by the guests to take revenge for the painful defeat in the Dutch Cup (0:6), which already happened in the new year.

Just five days after AZ’s sensational victory over one of the Dutch football giants, head coach Maarten Martens — the man who led the “Cheese Farmers” to that historic triumph over Ajax — was sacked. After his departure, AZ have recorded two narrow wins, one draw and one defeat. It is worth noting that most of these matches were won “by the skin of their teeth” — the games were tight, and in the match against Twente, AZ were significantly outplayed but the opponent simply lacked clinical finishing.

After exiting both the Champions League and the Dutch Cup, all that remains for Ajax is the fight in the Eredivisie. The Amsterdammers currently sit fourth with 38 points — the same as NEC Nijmegen (who are third and still have a game in hand), and just one point ahead of Feyenoord. In their last four league matches, Ajax started the first halves brilliantly, leading 2:0, but only in one case did the team manage to secure a comfortable victory without conceding after the break. This clearly illustrates their existing instability.

Oleksandr Halian - Sports Data Manager

Ajax need satisfaction after the humiliating cup defeat, while AZ’s performances since the departure of the Belgian coach look far from ideal. Of course, Ajax are also far from being a model of consistency, but injuries in the home side’s squad and the overall quality of the “Jews’” players should make the difference. I believe the visitors are at least capable of avoiding defeat, but for the prediction I suggest considering a more risky — yet worthwhile — option.

Match bet: Ajax Handicap (0) (odds 2.23)

Athletic Bilbao vs Levante

10:15Finished08.02.2026

At San Mamés, Athletic will host one of the teams fighting for survival — Levante, whose performances and results have noticeably improved after the change of head coach.

The victory over Valencia in the Copa del Rey and reaching the semi-finals somewhat overshadowed the Basques’ recent poor results. Athletic exited the Champions League in a thrilling battle with Sporting, while in La Liga the team shows inconsistency and currently sits only in eleventh place. Given the significant number of injuries in the Lions’ squad and the strong form of their competitors, the fight for European places looks like an extremely difficult task.

Athletic are traditionally considered a “cup team”, so it is quite likely that the Copa del Rey will become the main priority for Ernesto Valverde’s side — especially since the Basques already won this trophy in the 2023/24 season.

Since the arrival of Luís Castro, Levante’s performances — and most importantly, results — have improved significantly. Under the Portuguese specialist, the team collected 8 points in their first five matches — a very convincing record compared to just 10 points in 16 games before his appointment. The tightness of the table also plays into the hands of the Valencians: the gap between eighth place and second-from-bottom is only 10 points. And given Levante’s much-improved football in 2025, the “Frogs” fans have grounds for cautious optimism in the battle for survival.

Oleksandr Halian - Sports Data Manager

Considering Athletic’s lacklustre performances and the noticeable upturn at Levante, I suggest considering a positive outcome for the visitors.

Match bet: Levante Double Chance (X2) (odds 2.30)

Juventus vs Lazio

14:45Finished08.02.2026
2JuventusItaly
2LazioItaly

A few days ago the Turin side suffered a crushing defeat to Atalanta (0:3), losing their chance to reach the Coppa Italia semi-finals. In Serie A, things are going much better for Juventus: in the last round they thrashed Parma away, and before that there was an equally dominant victory over Napoli. With some probability, the Old Lady can currently even be considered a contender for the Scudetto.

Lazio are not feeling very comfortable this season — they perform inconsistently, and the club’s transfer policy is frustrating the fans, who do not hesitate to boycott matches involving the Eagles. In the previous round, Maurizio Sarri’s men managed to snatch a victory against Genoa in front of a half-empty Olimpico. But before that, in two matches, Lazio not only failed to win — they didn’t even score.

Oleksandr Vaskov - Sports Data Manager

An angry Juventus against a crisis-stricken Lazio? In theory, the Turin side should win confidently and prepare for the Derby d’Italia in good spirits. Of course, as long as they don’t create problems for themselves.

Match bet: Juventus to Win + Total Goals Under 4.5 (odds 1.60)

PSG vs Marseille

14:45Finished08.02.2026

Exactly one month ago these teams met in the French Super Cup, and that encounter was extremely intense: the game ended in a draw after regular time, and the trophy was decided in a penalty shootout, which Paris won. Currently, Luis Enrique’s side, thanks to a run of six consecutive victories, have climbed to the top of the Ligue 1 table.

Marseille sit third in the standings, and in the last round they unfortunately threw away a victory in a match against another Parisian club — Paris FC. However, before the biggest French derby, Roberto De Zerbi’s men approach in good spirits after a convincing cup win over Rennes. That said, can Marseille really be in good spirits after a very painful Champions League elimination?

Oleksandr Vaskov - Sports Data Manager

PSG lost to Marseille in the first half of the season, but at home they have not lost to them since 2020. Of course, we expect Paris to have more chances of success, but the game will be competitive and just as interesting as the recent battle for the French Super Cup.

Match bet: PSG to Win + Total Over 2.5 (odds 1.75)

Valencia vs Real Madrid

15:00Finished08.02.2026

In a dramatic Copa del Rey match, Valencia eventually fell to Athletic Bilbao. The Williams brothers — Nico and Iñaki — became the heroes of the tie. In the league, the Bats are forced to fight for survival, but their recent La Liga performances look promising: 7 points in 5 matches show they are ready to challenge even the giants.

The Whites snatched victory over Rayo Vallecano only in the 90+10 minute. The decisive penalty sparked a storm of controversy, but it brought three points to the Royal Club. Real Madrid recently learned their next Champions League playoff opponent — it will be Benfica. Symbolically, it was the Portuguese (among others thanks to a goal by Ukrainian goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin) who prevented Madrid from qualifying directly for the round of 16.

Oleksii Svyrydov - TipsGG Esports Expert

Previous meetings between these teams give reason to expect a high number of goals. Real’s defence is currently far from ideal, and Dean Huijsen’s uncertain play in central defence suggests the hosts will find their chance. However, the individual quality of Madrid’s attack will likely allow them to come out on top in this “shooting gallery”.

Match bet: Total Goals Over 3 (odds 1.92)
