Manchester United are willing to sell 19-year-old left-back Harry Amass for £6 million, with multiple Championship clubs reportedly showing interest, according to The Athletic. The academy product’s time at Old Trafford appears to be drawing to a close, at least in the short term.
Amass built a reputation on energetic displays in the rare opportunities he received at senior level. The 2024-25 campaign saw him make five league appearances and two Europa League outings for the first team — seven games that may now represent his final contribution in a United shirt.
The teenager was first sent out on loan to Sheffield Wednesday, where he made 21 appearances, contributing a goal and an assist. He was used primarily as a left wing-back, a role that fits Ruben Amorim’s preferred back-three structure. A subsequent loan move to Norwich City proved short-lived — Amass featured in just one match before injury ended his involvement early.
Why United Are Moving On From Amass
The £6 million asking price signals where Amass stands in United’s current plans. With the club expected to add to their left-back options — reported links to Lewis Hall among the names circulating — Amass no longer appears central to the squad’s direction. The Championship represents the right environment for him to accumulate consistent senior minutes away from an increasingly competitive group.
United remain active across their academy and non-first-team setup ahead of the window closing, with further movement in both directions possible.

United’s Non-First-Team Transfer Activity
The club have moved quickly on several under-the-radar deals. They pursued Tynan Thompson from Tottenham Hotspur and have since completed the signing for a fee of £4 million plus £4 million in potential add-ons. Goalkeeper Kit Margetson has also arrived following a compensation agreement with Swansea City.
On the outgoing side, goalkeeper Radek Vitek has been linked with a move to Middlesbrough, with further departures possible before the window shuts. Amass looks set to be among those heading for the exit, with a deal potentially moving fast. Stay with TipsGG for the latest updates as United’s transfer picture develops.
