Veteran striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has officially departed Saudi Pro League outfit Al Qadsiah after just one season, the club confirmed on Thursday.
“Thank you, Auba. All the best,” read a brief post from the club on X, with no further explanation offered regarding his exit.
Aubameyang, who previously starred for Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund, joined Al Qadsiah following their promotion to the top flight last year. In his lone season with the Saudi side, the 36-year-old proved instrumental, registering an impressive 21 goals and three assists across 36 appearances in all competitions.
His attacking contribution propelled Al Qadsiah to a fourth-place finish in the league and guided them to the final of the King’s Cup, where they narrowly fell to Al Ittihad.
While the Gabonese forward’s departure raises questions about the club’s next steps, there’s no denying the impact he had during his brief but productive stint. Whether this signals the end of his playing days or a new chapter in another league, fans will be watching closely.
