Wednesday wrapped up another full slate of matches at IEM Cologne Major 2026, and Stage 1 is starting to take shape. BetBoom Team and B8 are already through to Stage 2 with perfect 3-0 records, while SINNERS Esports and Gaimin Gladiators have been eliminated after finishing 0-3.
BetBoom punched their ticket with a clean 2-0 win over GamerLegion. No extended drama, no overtime — just sharp Counter-Strike, confident map control, and a composed finish against one of Stage 1’s stronger teams.
B8 followed them into Stage 2, although their route was far more chaotic. The Ukrainian side beat M80 2-0, but Inferno turned into the tensest map of the tournament so far, running all the way to 22-20 before B8 finally closed it out.
At the other end of the bracket, SINNERS and Gaimin Gladiators are done. Both leave Cologne without a series win, and for Gaimin Gladiators especially, it is a rough exit after arriving with some momentum behind them.

BetBoom Team and B8 now wait in Stage 2 after completing flawless 3-0 runs. Both teams earned it in different ways: BetBoom with control and authority, B8 with resilience and nerves in the most brutal pressure moments.
The 2-1 pool is stacked with dangerous names. GamerLegion, M80, NRG, Lynn Vision, BIG, and MIBR all remain in strong positions, but none of them can relax. One more win puts them through; one loss drags them into a final survival match.
The 1-2 pool is where the real pressure lives. FlyQuest, Sharks, THUNDER d0WNUNDER, Team Liquid, TYLOO, and HEROIC are all one defeat away from elimination. For HEROIC and Liquid, that is especially uncomfortable given the expectations around both rosters before the event.
