The North American Counter-Strike scene just got shaken up. Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski is officially back with Team Liquid, marking the end of his short stint with FaZe Clan and setting up a dramatic roster swap with Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken.
EliGE Parts Ways with FaZe
FaZe confirmed that EliGE, who had been on the bench since August 22, is no longer tied to the organization. The 28-year-old joined FaZe at the start of the year with high expectations but never truly clicked with the lineup. Despite a respectable 1.11 rating across events, FaZe’s results underwhelmed — a third-place finish at PGL Bucharest and a quarter-final exit at the Austin Major being their peak achievements.
The aggressive rifler was meant to fill the void left by Robin “ropz” Kool, but the playstyle clash proved costly. FaZe’s international mix struggled to find balance, leaving EliGE searching once again for a home where he could lift trophies.
Liquid Secure a Familiar Star
Liquid wasted no time, registering EliGE for Fragadelphia Blocktober and the upcoming Birch Cup LAN in Gdańsk, Poland (September 26–28). His return is nothing short of historic: EliGE spent over eight years with Liquid, winning 10 notable titles, including ESL One Cologne 2019, IEM Sydney, and the legendary Intel Grand Slam Season 2, completed in a record 63 days.

The Twistzz Trade-Off
This move comes in what is essentially a one-for-one trade with Twistzz. The Canadian star, who first left Liquid in 2020, is now set to rejoin FaZe. Twistzz’s return adds another layer of storyline to this shuffle: the two players effectively swap jerseys in hopes of reviving both rosters’ fortunes.
Looking Ahead
EliGE returns to Liquid with unfinished business. Once the face of NA Counter-Strike, his mission is clear — bring Liquid back to the top after years of instability and disappointment. Fans won’t have to wait long, as his debut is expected at the $15,000 Birch Cup this weekend.
Can EliGE’s reunion with Liquid reignite their winning DNA, or will this be another chapter of “so close, yet so far”?
