Premier League Reschedules Arsenal and Crystal Palace Fixtures to Ease December Congestion
2025/26England
Manchester UnitedArsenal and Crystal Palace have seen their Premier League fixtures rescheduled to alleviate fixture congestion in December.
The Gunners’ trip to Everton and Palace’s match at Leeds United, originally set for 14:00 GMT on Sunday, 21 December, will now take place at 20:00 on Saturday, 20 December. This adjustment grants both teams an extra day to prepare for their EFL Cup quarter-final clash on 23 December.
The EFL initially moved the cup tie from 16 December to avoid Palace playing three times in five days, as they also compete in the Conference League. Despite the rescheduling, Palace will still face a demanding schedule, with their Conference League tie against Finnish side KuPS set for Thursday, 18 December.
Arsenal rejected the idea of playing the EFL Cup tie on Christmas Eve, citing the impact on fans and club staff. Instead, the club will offer additional coaches for the trip to Merseyside on 20 December at a subsidised price of £10.
