The winds of change are swirling at FaZe Clan once again. In a bold roster move, the storied organization has benched North American rifler Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski and signed up-and-coming Polish prospect Jakub “jcobbb” Pietruszewski to take his place.
EliGE Out: An Era Ends Before It Starts
EliGE’s arrival at the start of the year was supposed to be a statement — a veteran star joining a legendary org hungry to reignite its legacy in CS2. Despite maintaining a respectable 1.11 Rating, the synergy just never clicked. FaZe’s once chaotic, game-breaking playstyle dulled, with only a third-place finish at PGL Bucharest and a quarter-final showing at the Austin Major to show for it.
Cracks started appearing as early as March when EliGE admitted, “we expected to be further along than we are,” highlighting the friction in replacing Robin “ropz” Kool’s calculated passivity with a more aggressive setup. The experiment faltered further in May with the benching and brief absence of Helvijs “broky” Saukants, replaced temporarily by s1mple before being reactivated.
FaZe’s early exits at IEM Cologne, BLAST Bounty Season 2, and the Esports World Cup sealed the deal. EliGE is now on the bench, with the org evaluating next steps.

Falcons Esportsjcobbb In: A Youth Injection for FaZe’s Aging Core
Enter jcobbb, a 21-year-old with firepower to spare and a hunger to prove himself. After cutting his teeth in the tier-two circuit with yologang420 and later 9INE, jcobbb found his footing at Betclic, where he posted a 1.13 Rating. Despite mixed results at PGL Bucharest — including a 0.97 Rating in a loss to FaZe — his standout performances in wins over Astralis (1.25) and The MongolZ (1.23) caught the eye.

FaZe ClanThe move is also a symbolic shift. FaZe’s average age of 28.4 was the highest in the top 10 — jcobbb now brings a much-needed injection of youth and raw energy to the server. The org announced the change on X with a clear message: “Time for a new era.”
