device to Join 100 Thieves as Part of Massive 2026 Rebuild

09.12.2025, 08:27

The Danish titan is poised to leave Astralis — again. Nicolai “device” Reedtz is in advanced negotiations to join 100 Thieves, marking one of the most ambitious roster moves of the upcoming CS2 season.

If completed, the signing would reunite device with long-time teammate and in-game partner Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander, who is set to take over as the team’s coach. For Astralis fans, it’s a seismic moment; for 100 Thieves, it’s the clearest sign yet of their intention to become a genuine championship contender.

A Second Astralis Departure — and a Legacy Revisited

device’s second stint with Astralis began in October 2022 after his return from Ninjas in Pyjamas. Despite the turbulence of the era, he remained a stabilizing force — guiding the Danes to the grand finals of PGL Astana and FISSURE Playground 1, while also helping the org secure its first Major appearance in three years.

Still, the run ended earlier than hoped. Astralis fell short in Stage 2 of the Major in Budapest, a result that only amplified internal pressure and questions about the team’s long-term direction.

As device reflected earlier this year, “A lot of this year has been, in some way, a wake-up call for me to figure out how I can be the player I want to be.” A move to 100 Thieves may well be that reset.

The 100 Thieves Project: A Core Is Forming

With rain already locked in, adding device would give 100 Thieves a star-studded duo — but also a logistical challenge. The team would still need to sign a three-man core to start 2026 with a valid VRS ranking, leaving several pieces of the puzzle still unannounced.

Expected roster so far:
 Håvard “rain” Nygaard
 Nicolai “device” Reedtz
 Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander (coach)

100 Thieves declined to comment on the negotiations.

Just days after announcing his retirement from professional play,
Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander is preparing for his next chapter — and it’s a big one. Multiple sources tell that the former Astralis and ENCE captain will join 100 Thieves as their head coach, marking the beginning of a new coaching era for one of Counter-Strike’s most decorated leaders.

gla1ve becomes the second major addition to the reformed 100 Thieves project after rain’s arrival from FaZe last month. With more than a decade of experience, four Majors, and a reputation as one of the best IGLs in history, his transition to coaching has been widely anticipated.

As he told:
“I truly believe I have something extraordinary to offer in this role.”

Building the Infrastructure Behind the Scenes

100 Thieves aren’t just signing players — they’re assembling an entire ecosystem. The organisation has also hired Graham “messioso” Pitt as Head of CS Operations and Sean “seang@res” Gares as Head of FPS, signalling a long-term strategic commitment to their return to the Counter-Strike scene after five years away.

Early rumours suggested interest in the GamerLegion core, and although discussions took place, CEO Nicolas Reber clarified that no active negotiations for player transfers are currently ongoing.

As with the device negotiations, 100 Thieves have not issued an official comment.
