Paris Saint-Germain and France forward Ousmane Dembélé has been officially named Best Player in the World for 2025 at the Globe Soccer Awards, capping off a remarkable year at both club and international level.
The ceremony took place on Sunday, December 28, in Dubai, where Dembélé edged out elite competition to claim one of football’s most prestigious individual honours.
A New Name on the Throne
Dembélé succeeds Vinícius Júnior, who won the award last year shortly after narrowly missing out on the Ballon d’Or, which went to Rodri. This year’s result once again underlines how Globe Soccer often reflects a broader global perspective, combining fan engagement with expert evaluation.
The voting process blends popular vote with input from a specialised jury made up of club directors, former players, and experienced coaches — adding weight and credibility to the final outcome.
PSG Dominate the Night
It wasn’t just an individual triumph for Dembélé. Paris Saint-Germain enjoyed a hugely successful evening, being named Best Team of the Year ahead of strong competition from Barcelona, Chelsea, Flamengo, and Liverpool.
Luis Enrique was also recognised as Best Coach, highlighting PSG’s tactical consistency, attacking structure, and elite man-management throughout the year.
