The Counter-Strike world just got its next headline moment: PGL has officially revealed that the second Major of 2026 will take place in Singapore, running from November 25 to December 13. The event will feature a massive $1,250,000 prize pool and bring top-tier Counter-Strike to Southeast Asia for the first time in history.
A Historic First for Southeast Asia
After the Perfect World Shanghai Major shattered expectations in 2024 by establishing Asia as a legitimate host for Counter-Strike’s most prestigious tournament, PGL is now pushing the frontier even further. Singapore will become the first Southeast Asian nation to stage a CS2 Major — a milestone many fans in the region have been waiting for.
The tournament will bring together 32 of the world’s best teams, battling through three stages before moving into the iconic 12,000-seat Singapore Indoor Stadium for the playoffs. The atmosphere is set to peak with a best-of-five grand final to decide the champion, a format that always tests a team’s resilience, depth, and raw firepower.
PGL Strengthens Its Legacy
This event will mark PGL’s fifth Counter-Strike Major, adding to a storied list that includes Krakow 2017, Stockholm 2021, Antwerp 2022, and Copenhagen 2024. The company has also built a strong rapport with Singapore’s esports scene through its Dota 2 events — most notably hosting The International 2022 — making this Major feel like a natural evolution of their partnership with the region.

The Singapore Tourism Board expressed clear excitement about the event’s impact, highlighting the nation’s growing presence as a top-tier esports destination.
“Singapore has been host to exciting esports events such as The International… and we look forward with much anticipation to hosting our first Counter-Strike Major in 2026, which will reinforce Singapore as a world-class events destination,” said Ms. Jean Ng, Assistant Chief Executive of the Singapore Tourism Board.
She added that the tournament is expected to draw fans from across the region, inviting visitors not only to enjoy elite Counter-Strike but also to experience Singapore’s vibrant culture and entertainment scene.
A Major With Massive Regional Impact
For Southeast Asian CS fans — long passionate but historically underserved in the Tier 1 ecosystem — this Major is more than just a tournament. It’s a statement of growth, recognition, and potential. With CS2 continuing to evolve, hosting the world’s biggest event in a hotspot of emerging talent is a powerful signal that the region’s competitive ceiling is rising.
And as we move closer to 2026, one question grows louder: Who will rise to claim the throne on Southeast Asian soil?
Whatever the answer, the Singapore Major is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated stops on the Counter-Strike calendar.
