The winds of change are blowing hard through the CS2 scene — again. Ukrainian org Passion UA is reportedly on the verge of sealing a major deal with Complexity, aiming to acquire four of its core players. Multiple sources close to the matter confirmed to HLTV that negotiations are in advanced stages, with finalization expected in the coming days.
This potential blockbuster includes Johnny “JT” Theodosiou, Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli, Michael “Grim” Wince, and Nick “nicx” Lee. The quartet has long been the backbone of Complexity’s roster, and their transfer marks a pivotal reunion with former head coach Tiaan “T.c” Coertzen, who departed Complexity back in March after a storied three-year tenure.
To round out the lineup, Passion UA plans to reintroduce Vladyslav “Kvem” Korol, recently benched during the team’s sweeping overhaul. He is expected to replace Danny “Cxzi” Strzelczyk in the upcoming lineup.
New Chapter, Familiar Faces
This move is part of Passion UA’s second roster reset in six months. Earlier today, the org officially released Volodymyr “Woro2k” Veletniuk and Oleksii “Topa” Topchiienko, while placing Kvem, Nikita “jackasmo” Skyba, and Sergiy “DemQQ” Demchenko on the bench. The coaching staff, however, remains intact, with both T.c and assistant coach Luca “Munstur” Ioanițiu confirmed to stay on for the rebuild.
“This is not the end of Passion UA’s story — it’s the beginning of a new chapter,” the organization wrote on X.
VRS and Regional Implications
Despite the addition of a Ukrainian player, the new roster will remain assigned to the Americas region under the Valve Regional Standings (VRS). This is due to JT’s regional designation, which carries the lowest priority weight following Valve’s June 25 model update. This allows the team to compete under North American banners despite its Ukrainian ties.
What’s Next for Complexity?
If the deal materializes, Complexity will effectively be left without an active roster. The team’s recent trajectory has been underwhelming — exiting early at IEM Cologne and falling in the first round of BLAST Bounty to HEROIC. Even so, they held a global VRS ranking of 21st and were fourth in the Americas prior to this shift. HLTV sources indicate that Complexity has been exploring options to sell their squad for some time.

VitalityA Brief Flash Before the Fade
As for Passion UA’s previous roster, the team had shown flashes of brilliance earlier this year, with a win at Glitched Masters and a solid climb to 32nd in Valve’s rankings. But inconsistency plagued them, culminating in a steep fall to 48th before today’s announcement.
With T.c at the helm and familiar players by his side, Passion UA’s rebuild may not just be about starting over — it could be about finally stabilizing and scaling up. For Complexity, however, the future is filled with uncertainty.
