The 20-year-old spent the second half of the 2025/26 season on loan at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, making 11 Premier League appearances for the Toffees, just one of which came from the start. Despite limited minutes, he made a positive impression on David Moyes. Chelsea had inserted a £25 million permanent clause in the loan agreement, but Everton chose not to trigger it. Instead, the Merseyside club is negotiating a lower fee with Chelsea, a position made easier by the fact George has only 12 months left on his Stamford Bridge contract.

A Cobham Graduate Likely Heading Out

George has been part of Chelsea’s setup since Under-8 level, coming through the club’s development centre programme before making his senior debut early in the 2024/25 season under Enzo Maresca. The London-born wide man now looks set to leave west London permanently.

His expected departure would make him the second official exit of Chelsea’s summer window, following Marc Cucurella’s move to Real Madrid. Counting incomings and outgoings, the George deal would represent the seventh transaction of the Blues’ window, with several yet to receive official club confirmation.

A Busy Window Taking Shape

On the arrivals side, Geovany Quenda, Dastan Satpayev, Emmanuel Emegha, and Valentin Barco are all pre-agreed signings set to arrive at Cobham this summer. Marco Palestra’s move from Atalanta is also complete and awaiting its official announcement.

All of this activity is building toward the anticipated arrival of Xabi Alonso. Stay with TipsGG for continued coverage of Chelsea’s summer rebuild.
