Natus Vincere claimed the IEM Atlanta 2026 trophy with a commanding 3-0 sweep of GamerLegion, securing their second title of the year following their ESL Pro League victory in March.
NAVI had already made a statement at this tournament by eliminating Vitality in the quarter-finals, snapping a multi-year losing streak against the world’s top-ranked side. Leaving without the trophy would have undercut that result entirely.
Across the server, a young GamerLegion lineup had shown real growth throughout the event. Milan “hypex” Polowiec stood out in particular, producing an elevated level of play compared to previous appearances.
NAVI proved too complete a team to be stopped. Ihor “w0nderful” Zhdanov sustained his exceptional event form with consistent fragging output across all three maps, finishing the series with a 60-34 K-D and a 1.44 Rating3.0. Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen dictated the tactical side of the series, repeatedly outmaneuvering his opposite number in the calling battle.
Map 1: Mirage — One-Sided from the Start
The opening map, GamerLegion‘s own pick, was never competitive. NAVI won the force-buy exchange early on their CT side and never relinquished control. Fredrik “REZ” Sterner produced individual moments of quality, but they were not enough to disrupt NAVI‘s structured defense. After the half, NAVI closed out with minimal resistance.
Map 2: Anubis — GamerLegion Fight Back, NAVI Respond
GamerLegion came out with more intent on Anubis, winning the early force-buy and introducing a scrappier style built around individual playmaking from hypex and REZ. w0nderful anchored NAVI‘s defensive half, generating a six-round haul that kept the map under control.
GamerLegion grabbed their CT pistol and clawed back after NAVI‘s opening win, keeping the second half alive briefly. Aleksib had the final say. NAVI began rotating fluidly between attack points, leaving GamerLegion unable to read their structure, and ran off six consecutive rounds to close the map and take a 2-0 series lead.
Map 3: Nuke — Overtime Seals the Title
GamerLegion opened Nuke aggressively, racing to a 4-0 advantage on offense with fast-paced executes that caught NAVI off guard. NAVI recalibrated, grew more effective at diffusing quick plays, and showed greater comfort in slower-paced rounds. The half ended level.
Aleksib delivered a polished 1v2 clutch on the T-side pistol round that appeared to swing the momentum firmly toward NAVI. Sebastian “Tauson” Tauson Lindelof responded with a sharp 1v2 clutch of his own to complete GamerLegion‘s force-buy, and the momentum reversed. hypex and Oldřich “PR” Nový raised their level and pushed GamerLegion all the way to 12 rounds.
GamerLegion could not convert when the championship was within reach. Drin “makazze” Shaqiri took over on NAVI‘s offense, registering four consecutive opening kills to create the space for his team’s structured plays to function. Five straight rounds sent the map to overtime, where NAVI‘s experience proved decisive and they sealed the championship.

The IEM Cologne Major Race Takes Shape
NAVI‘s run at IEM Atlanta carried weight beyond the trophy itself. Defeating Vitality and ending that extended losing streak against Dan “apEX” Madesclaire’s side signals a shift in the competitive hierarchy.
With FURIA trending upward, Spirit coming off a PGL Astana win, and Falcons looking credible with Finn “karrigan” Andersen integrated into their roster, the build-up to the IEM Cologne Major carries genuine tension.
Not long ago, Vitality lifting the first Major of the year felt like a formality. That assumption no longer holds. Natus Vincere, as IEM Atlanta champions, sit among the teams capable of challenging that narrative when Cologne arrives. Follow TipsGG for full coverage of the road to the Major.
