MSI 2022 Day 5 Predictions

Yesterday we went 5-6 and continue with a very high prediction %, and for tomorrow we will try to once again go 6-6 or should I say 9-9 because of the games that Royal Never Give Up will have to replay.

Tomorrow’s games will feature some heavy favorites so, in theory, it shouldn’t be too hard to predict them, but that’s the beauty of League of Legends, anything can happen.

Without further ado, let’s get right into the predictions.

Evil Geniuses vs G2 Esports match prediction

It’s the third time that both teams will face at MSI 2022 and G2 Esports seems to have Evil Geniuses number.

The North American team hasn’t been able to defeat their European rivals yet, and when they were close to doing it was because of a massive Baron blunder by the LEC champions.

G2 Esports was been a much more proactive team in the early game, with Caps roaming a lot and finding advantages for his side lanes. Danny and Vulcan also have been exploited in the 2v2 as predicted, since the bot lane of Evil Geniuses, especially their ADC, shine on the team fights but arent good when it comes to 2v2.

With Jankos having an impact around the whole map is hard for Evil Geniuses to reach the late game in an even stage when they are on average behind 3k gold or more at the 20-minute mark, and behind in Drakes as well.

Flakked continues to impress and each day the rookie ADC has fewer and fewer haters and more admirers.

It’s going to be hard for Evil Geniuses to defeat G2 Esports if the LEC team continues to play a good early game as they have, and don’t make any huge mistake in the late stages of the game.

Maybe Danny or jojopyun can pop off and handle G2 Esports their first loss of MSI, but the way things have been going I don’t think that is going to happen.

The LEC champions have also been drafting really well, and know-how to play to the strengths of their compositions.

With the solid macro and micro they have shown, I think G2 Esports is poised to take the top spot in Group C without losing a match.

Evil Geniuses vs ORDER match prediction

Evil Geniuses come into this game as the heavy favorites. They have shown to be individually much better than their Oceania counterpart, and even if their early game is not on the level of G2 Esports, and sometimes their macro game leaves a little bit to desire, they are still better in those departments than ORDER.

For ORDER I dare to say that only a miracle would allow them to defeat Evil Geniuses. For that to happen they would need a very strong early game, being very proactive around the map, and trying to find advantages in the 2v2 on the bot side of the map.

This was they could make Danny fall behind, and gain vision control around objectives, especially the Drakes.

In the late game, they would need a considerable advantage and even then they would have to team fitgh better than Evil Geniuses which is not an easy thing to do even if you are a little ahead in the gold department.

Is it possible for ORDER to pull an upset and defeat Evil Geniuses? Sure anything is possible, and even last year the LCS champion lost to the Oceanic representatives so it can definitely happen.

My prediction is it is very unlikely it will happen and I see Evil Geniuses comfortable winning both games against ORDER.

G2 Esports vs ORDER match prediction

Similar to what I said about Evil Geniuses I really struggle to see G2 Esports drop a game versus ORDER.

They have dominated both games versus Evil Geniuses which is a much more difficult opponent, and I think they will go undefeated in this Group C.

G2 Esports is just overall the best team in the group, and ORDER would have to almost play a perfect game on their side to at least stand a chance against the LEC champions, and even then it probably wouldn’t be enough.

With Caps and company firing on all cylinders, and G2 Esports looking like a legit title contender so far I heavily favor the LEC champions in this matchup.

Maybe ORDER can pull some surprise on their draft and catch the Group C leader off guard, but my bet is that G2 Esports will continue to be very proactive in the early game, will have a good gold lead at the 14-minute mark, and then will play the side lanes properly, set up vision around objectives and fight around it.

It’s going to be a monumental task for ORDER to take at least one of the games versus G2 Esports.

Royal Never Give Up matches prediction

As for the games Royal Never Give Up will have to replay I already did my prediction on them on the Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3 MSI 2022 prediction articles and they remain the same.

It’s a shame that Royal Never Give Up will have to replay those games but the truth is it’s the fairest thing to do.

However, I still think Royal Never Give Up is head and shoulders above everyone else in their Group, they are certainly a title contender and probably the second-best team in the world currently.

Riot Games should also take a look at this format for next year in order to avoid problems like this to happen, and make the groups stage a little bit more entertaining instead of just the Major Regions dominating the minor region teams, winning the games in 20 minutes, and in some cases, the games just looking lost the moment the minions arrive at the lane.

But that’s a story for another article that will come out in the near future.
