Royal Never Give Up
T1The first day of MSI went mostly as expected, with only the upset of the Brazilian champions RED Canids drifting from the general narrative of favorites defeating the underdogs.
With five correct predictions out of six for day one of the event, let’s see if this time I can go six for six.
Without further ado, let’s get right into the predictions. Check our LoL betting guide to make the most out of your predictions
G2 Esports vs Evil Geniuses match prediction

G2 Esports showed why they are a title contender on the first day of MSI.
The LEC champions defeated ORDER and their North American rivals Evil Geniuses.
Against Evil Geniuses, G2 Esports dominated the early game and despite not having opened an insane gold lead at the 14-minute mark, only being 2k ahead, they were in firm control of the game.
With some great macro play, playing well around the solo lanes, gaining vision control around objectives, and with some great team fighting the LEC squad took the win.
I think the same thing will happen tomorrow.
Caps and Jankos continue to prove why they are one of the best mid-jungler duos of all time, and individually everyone on G2 Esports performed well.
G2 Esports was much more proactive on the map and didn’t commit any huge mistakes that allowed Evil Geniuses to get back into the game.
I just think that G2 Esports is a better-oiled machine, with very experienced players, and showed that once ahead they do a really good job at managing their lead, not overstaying or overreaching, and fighting when they know they have the advantage.

Evil Geniuses vs ORDER match prediction

ORDER actually had a great showing against G2 Esports. In a game where most predicted a dominant win by the LEC champions ORDER gave G2 Esports a run for their money.
However, they eventually fumbled the ball on a Baron call that led to a G2 Esports ACE and the LEC champions took control of the game.
This game showed us that ORDER early game is actually good and if Evil Geniuses continue to be a very stall team, not looking for plays and drafting for late game team fights, it can actually come back to hurt them.
But it also shows us that ORDER will make mistakes and Evil Geniuses is a very good team when it comes to capitalizing on their opponent’s mistakes, it was mainly what won them the LCS title.
Individually I give the advantage to Evil Geniuses and I’m sure the team will come back stronger tomorrow since they know a win versus ORDER is fundamental to keep their hopes of getting the first spot and also making it into the next stage.

DetonatioN FocusMe vs Saigon Buffalo match prediction

DetonatioN FocusMe dominated the early game against Team Aze and was always in control of the game.
It was on the botlane 2v2 where they found a lot of success, with Yutapon Lucian getting huge early in the game.
From there the Japanese side do what they normally do, they pushed their side lanes, took control of the enemy jungle, gained vision around objectives, and fought around those same objectives.
Their macro game wasn’t flawless but it was solid, and in the team fights, they also showed to be superior to team Aze.
As for Saigon Buffalo their early game versus T1 was spectacular if you take into account they were again the best team in the world.
Botlane 2v2 was surprisingly where they found their advantage, 2v2 keria, and Gumayusi not once but twice.
But T1 macro game and team fitting proved to be too much for the VCS second seed.
This is a very hard game to predict since I think both of these teams will be fighting for the second spot in group A, as Team Aze will play spoiler in my opinion.
I will go with the Japanese champions for this game. Despite Saigon Buffalo success in the early game where they forced a lot of skirmishes, they weren’t able to translate their bot lane lead to the rest of the map, and their macro game wasn’t good.
DetonatioN FocusMe has a much more polished macro game, and I’m confident that if they get ahead in the early game they will be able to translate that gold lead into objectives such as drakes and towers, increasing their gold lead even more.
When it comes to team fights and skirmishes the Japanese side is also not bad, and they are good at realizing when they should or not go for the fight or skirmish.

T1 vs Team Aze match prediction

There is not a lot to be said about this one. Despite the scare in the early game against Saigon Buffalo the LCK champions got, they still managed to take over control of the game in the mid-game, with some good macro play and great team fights.
As for Team Aze they didn’t look good against DetonatioN FocusMe so you should expect this team to suddenly flip a switch and start playing like the 2015 KOO Tigers.
T1 are better individually, in the maco and micro department and I would be shocked if they don’t win this game.

İstanbul Wildcats vs RED Canids match prediction

The CBLOL champions RED Canids pulled off the only upset of the day. But if you watched the game you would call it an upset.
RED Canids dominated the game from start to finish and everything I said in my power rankings article about what was needed for the Brazilian side to win happened.
Aegis performed really well in the jungle, and Titan step up and was the carry every Brazilian fan needed him to be.
As for İstanbul Wildcats, they were dominated by Royal Never Give Up, and even though the LPL champions are one of the favorites to win the tournament we didnt get to see that early game aggression that the Turkish team is known for.
If in tomorrow’s series we have the RED Canids that showed up today, it will be very hard for the Turkish side.
RED Canids proved they can play a strong early game against the favorites to secure the second spot in the group.
So like the RED Canids fans say “the wolf is coming to get you”.

Royal Never Give Up vs PSG Talon match prediction

Before seeing PSG Talon performance today I would have said this was going to be a very close and thrilling game.
But after their dissipating performance versus RED Canids, merit to the Brazilian side that played a great game, I think this will be a very one-sided affair.
Royal Never Give Up looked really good against İstanbul Wildcats having a great early game, something the team is not really known for, and dominated the Turkish team from start to finish.
While PSG Talon looked like a shadow of themselves. They weren’t proactive and were losing the skirmishes and team fights which is something they normally are good at.
Overall the PSG Talon that dominated the PCS will have to show up tomorrow to at least stand a chance.
Otherwise, I see Royal never Give Up taking the win and PSG Talon falling to a 0-2 score, and their dream of advancing to the next stage getting even harder.
