Confirmation arrived after Manchester City dropped points against Bournemouth, leaving Pep Guardiola‘s side unable to close the gap at the top of the table. The result hands Arsenal their 14th top-flight championship, moving them further ahead of Liverpool and Manchester United as England’s third-most successful league club.

After back-to-back second-place finishes in 2022/23 and 2023/24, steadily increasing points totals, squad depth and consistency, the Gunners converted contention into control this season.
Their title was built on efficiency at both ends of the pitch. Elite defensive output, sustained attacking production and devastating set-pieces made them exceptionally difficult to beat throughout the campaign. Arteta‘s side avoided the late-season collapse that defined previous challenges.
The contrast with earlier title bids was stark. In 2022/23, Arsenal led the league for 248 days before Manchester City‘s experience and relentless closing pace overturned the deficit. Last season, the Gunners improved again but fell two points short. This time, there was no collapse to punish.
Arsenal maintained pace through the winter period, managed fixture congestion and converted difficult away fixtures into points. Recruitment played a central role too, with signings including Eberechi Eze, Martin Zubimendi and Viktor Gyokeres all contributing at key moments.
For Arteta personally, the title caps a long, structured rebuild. When he arrived in December 2019, Arsenal were 10th in the Premier League and drifting strategically. His first trophy came quickly with the FA Cup in 2020, but the years that followed demanded patience from ownership and supporters alike.

Questions over recruitment, periods of inconsistency and repeated suggestions that Arsenal had reached their ceiling all followed. Arteta has now delivered the club’s first Premier League title since Arsene Wenger‘s Invincibles in 2003/04, alongside a first Champions League final appearance in 20 years. He becomes only the sixth manager in history to win an English top-division title with Arsenal.
