Ange-Yoan Bonny has completed his switch of international footballing nationality and will be available for Ivory Coast selection when the nation announces its World Cup squad. The Inter Milan forward’s request, processed through FIFA, was formally granted on Friday.
French-born, Bonny previously represented France at under-21 level two years ago before formally pursuing the switch. The 22-year-old is of Ivorian heritage and is expected to be included in the Ivory Coast 26-man squad for the tournament.
His case for inclusion is clear. Bonny contributed as a super sub throughout Inter Milan‘s title-winning Serie A campaign this season, recording five league goals as the club claimed the Italian championship.
