Real Madrid have agreed personal terms with RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, with Paris St-Germain having withdrawn from the race for the 19-year-old Ivory Coast international.

PSG are reported to have had a final £102.5m offer rejected on Sunday before opting out of a bidding war with Real. Liverpool had also pursued Diomande earlier, submitting an initial bid of £69m in June that Leipzig turned down, before moving on to alternative targets.

Real Madrid will pay more than £100m for a player who joined Leipzig from Leganes last summer on a five-year deal. The personal terms agreed are structured along similar lines to Jude Bellingham’s contract, with incentives tied to performance that see the deal improve year-on-year.

Sources close to Real Madrid indicate that key negotiators Jose Angel and Juni Calafat have tracked Diomande for approximately five years. Their interest was not triggered by his recent World Cup performances but reflects a long-standing assessment of his potential.

Leipzig Acknowledge an Extraordinary Market

Leipzig worked to retain Diomande in the Bundesliga, but the club has acknowledged that the scale of interest from Europe’s elite clubs, combined with a potential record sale price, made the situation difficult to manage. The German side regard the demand for the forward as exceptional.

Diomande was named the Bundesliga’s young player of the season for 2025-26, having scored 12 goals and registered eight assists across the campaign. He relocated from Ivory Coast to an academy in the United States in 2025 before earning a move to Leganes in Spain, where he caught the attention of clubs across the continent.
