Sparta value Mannsverk for his capacity to blend technical quality with a physical approach in central midfield. Sporting director Tomas Rosicky outlined precisely what the club sees in the player.
“Sivert is the sort of player who can bring balance to the team and help control the centre of the pitch; he’s also good at organising play. He’s constantly looking for the ball and actively seeks out spaces where he can make himself available to his teammates. He’s physically strong, aggressive and active in challenges. It’s precisely this combination of technical ability and physicality that we need from our deep-lying central midfielders.”
Rosicky also pointed to Mannsverk‘s character as a decisive factor. Despite being used outside his preferred position for stretches of last season, the midfielder maintained a consistent work rate and commitment to the collective.
“Over the course of last season, he often didn’t play in his ideal position, yet he always demonstrated his work ethic and willingness to commit to the team. He’s a strong character who isn’t afraid to stand up for his teammates and the club. He’s shown us the right mentality. That’s why we wanted him to continue with us.”
The 24-year-old joined Ajax from Norwegian club Molde in 2023 for a fee of €6 million, but managed only 18 appearances for the Amsterdam side. A six-month loan to Cardiff City followed in January 2025, before Sparta secured him on loan ahead of making the deal permanent.
Mannsverk made 27 appearances for Sparta Prague last season, contributing two assists. The player expressed clear enthusiasm about the move being finalized.
“I’m thrilled to be here. I was confident that the negotiations between the clubs would go well and that Sparta would manage to finalise the transfer. I’m already looking forward to seeing the lads again.”
