French Court Rules in Favor of Mbappé
Paris St-Germain have been ordered to pay Kylian Mbappé €60 million (£52.5m) in unpaid salary and bonuses by a French court. The ruling comes after a long-running dispute between the France captain and his former club, which reached a Paris labor court in November.
Mbappé had initially sought €263 million (£231.5m) from PSG, citing unpaid wages, contract disputes, and alleged ill-treatment. The club, in turn, counter-sued for €240 million (£211m), arguing that Mbappé’s failed transfer to Al-Hilal in 2023 had cost them dearly.

The court’s decision recognized that PSG had failed to pay three months of Mbappé’s salary between April and June 2024, along with an ethics bonus and a signing bonus outlined in his contract. While the Real Madrid forward was awarded only a fraction of his original claim, his lawyer, Frédérique Cassereau, expressed satisfaction with the outcome.
“We are satisfied with this ruling. This is what you could expect when salaries went unpaid,” Cassereau stated.
Mbappé ultimately joined Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer following the collapsed Al-Hilal deal. The case highlights the financial and legal complexities surrounding high-profile football transfers and contract disputes.
