Oscar Discharged Following Vasovagal Syncope
Oscar, the former Chelsea and Brazil midfielder, has been discharged from hospital after a heart issue. The 34-year-old collapsed during pre-season testing at Sao Paulo‘s training facility last Tuesday.
The club confirmed Oscar’s release from Einstein Hospital Israelita on Sunday, stating he was ‘stable and clinically well’ throughout his stay. Medical tests revealed he suffered vasovagal syncope, a common fainting condition triggered by sudden drops in blood pressure and heart rate.
Sao Paulo announced Oscar will follow a medical rest protocol before resuming activities. The veteran returned to the club last year after an eight-year stint in China, signing a three-year contract through 2027.
