Julian Nagelsmann has confirmed that Kai Havertz will be named in his Germany squad for the World Cup. The announcement caps a difficult season for the forward, whose injury disruptions were offset by a Premier League title triumph with Arsenal, ending the club’s 22-year wait for the championship.

Havertz made just 11 Premier League appearances this season, yet his contribution carried weight when it mattered. He scored the decisive goal in Arsenal‘s 1-0 win over Burnley and added another in April’s 2-1 defeat at the Manchester City Etihad. The Gunners were confirmed champions on Tuesday after Manchester City drew against Bournemouth.
With the title secured, Havertz faces two more club commitments before turning his focus entirely to international duty: a Premier League final day fixture against Crystal Palace, followed by the Champions League final against PSG.
Nagelsmann was direct in his message to the 26-year-old.
“On the pitch, you are outstanding. Incredibly important for us. Stay healthy, clear your mind and go for it. You have everything we need to have a top goalscorer up front,” Nagelsmann said.
Havertz is set to lead the line as Germany‘s No. 9 this summer. The expectation that comes with that role is precisely the kind of stage he is built for, and his manager has made clear the trust placed in him.
