Everton Midfielder Faces Long Recovery After Stress Fracture
Everton midfielder Jack Grealish has officially confirmed his season is over. The 30 year old underwent surgery to repair a stress fracture in his foot, a development that creates a significant hurdle for his aspirations of joining the England squad for the upcoming World Cup.
The injury occurred during Everton‘s 1-0 Premier League victory over Aston Villa last month. Jack Grealish, currently on loan from Manchester City, had established himself as a core component of the squad before the setback. He leaves the pitch with 22 appearances across all competitions this term, contributing two goals and six assists.
His consistent output at Goodison Park had sparked widespread speculation regarding an international recall. Jack Grealish earned his most recent England cap in October 2024 during the tenure of caretaker manager Lee Carsley. The timing of this surgery is particularly difficult with the World Cup scheduled to begin on June 11 across Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
“Didn’t want the season to end like this but that’s football, gutted. Surgery done and now all focus on getting back fit. I know for sure I will come back fitter, stronger and better than before.”
The former Aston Villa captain joined Everton with a decorated resume. His trophy cabinet includes three Premier League titles, the Champions League, and the FA Cup, all won during his time with Manchester City. The rehabilitation process begins immediately as he looks to return to peak condition for the next campaign. Follow TipsGG for ongoing fitness updates and Premier League news.
