Di Nallo stands as the all-time top scorer in OL history, having netted 222 goals across 489 appearances between 1960 and 1974. During that span he won three Coupe de France titles (1964, 1967, 1973), cementing his place as one of French football’s most decorated one-club servants.
At international level, Di Nallo earned 10 caps for the France national team between 1962 and 1972, scoring 8 goals. His debut was immediate: a brace against Hungary in a 2-3 defeat for Les Bleus at Colombes, in a side that also featured Raymond Kopa.
Standing just 1.67 m, Di Nallo was compact and direct, a striker who relied on movement and instinct rather than physical presence. After his years in Lyon, he joined Montpellier as a personal favour to Louis Nicollin, when the club was still competing in the division d’honneur. He spent two seasons there before bringing his career to a close.
His passing comes months after Bernard Lacombe, who died in June 2025 at 72, leaving OL mourning a second iconic figure in quick succession. Follow TipsGG for continued coverage of Olympique Lyonnais and French football.
