Fleetwood Town Sack Manager Pete Wild Following Six Defeats in Seven Matches
League Two club Fleetwood Town have dismissed head coach Pete Wild and his assistant Adam Temple after a dismal run of six losses in their last seven games.
The decision comes on the heels of a 2-1 defeat at Colchester United, their fourth loss in five league matches, leaving Fleetwood in 15th place—11 points adrift of the play-off spots.
In a club statement, Fleetwood expressed gratitude for Wild and Temple’s efforts: “Everyone at the club would like to place on record their thanks to Pete and Adam for their hard work and professionalism during their time here.” The club added that further updates on the first-team staff would follow.
Wild, who previously managed Oldham Athletic, Halifax Town, and Barrow, took over from Charlie Adam in December 2024. Inheriting a side in 18th place, just eight points clear of relegation, he steered them to a 14th-placed finish in his first season.
This season began promisingly, with Fleetwood sitting ninth—just two points outside the play-offs—after a 2-1 home win over Gillingham on 20 December. However, their form has since collapsed, yielding just one point from their last five league games. Their recent slump includes six defeats in seven matches across all competitions, matching their total losses from the previous 28 games this season.
The club has not yet announced an interim or permanent replacement.
