Crystal Palace Target Rosenior If Chelsea Exit Materializes
Crystal Palace are preparing to move for a Premier League manager should circumstances shift this summer. The Eagles will lose Oliver Glasner and have already begun identifying potential successors from both employed and available candidates.
Liam Rosenior, the Chelsea manager, sits atop the club’s radar. Palace have maintained long-standing interest in the former Strasbourg boss, and they would act swiftly if Chelsea decides to part ways with him. Recent poor results have placed Rosenior under increasing scrutiny at Stamford Bridge.
Rosenior’s Track Record at Hull City
Former scout Mick Brown outlined the reasoning behind Palace’s pursuit. According to Brown: “If Liam Rosenior was to be sacked by Chelsea, he’s somebody Crystal Palace will be looking at, because they’ve been long-term admirers since before he came to Chelsea. The people I speak to at Hull City speak very highly of him, the way they played under him, the organisation, the way he interacted with his players. Everything about him as a manager, I’ve heard nothing but praise about until he’s gone to Chelsea and results maybe haven’t been as they’d have hoped.”
Brown continued: “From a Crystal Palace perspective, those are good signs, because he was highly rated in France as well and there are people at Palace who like him. If he was to leave Chelsea, they’d be alerted to that and he’s somebody I’m sure they would be looking at as an option to replace Glasner. It’s certainly something Palace will be keeping an eye on.”
Summer Manager Search Underway
Palace’s pursuit extends beyond Rosenior. Multiple candidates have already been linked with the south London club as Glasner’s departure approaches. The search is expected to stretch through the summer transfer window, with supporters anticipating a formal list of contenders.
