Vejle Boldklub have bolstered their backline with the acquisition of seasoned left-back Christian Sørensen, signing him on a three-year contract from FC Midtjylland.
Sørensen, 32, arrives at Vejle with significant Superliga experience under his belt, having previously represented Viborg FF and FC Copenhagen. Despite a less impactful stint at Midtjylland—where he featured in only seven matches and was sidelined for large parts of the season—the Dane is eager for a fresh chapter.
“In my conversations with both Mikkel Hemmersam and Ivan Prelec, it became clear that Vejle Boldklub and I are a perfect fit moving forward,” Sørensen told Vejle’s official website. “The club sees me playing a vital role, not just on the pitch, but also as a leader off it, and that overall package really appealed to me.”
The immediate goal is survival in the 3F Superliga, but Sørensen sees his signing as part of a long-term vision. “The work has already started to build a stronger foundation. I want to contribute to making Vejle a stable force in the league,” he added.
Reflecting on the challenges ahead, he remained optimistic: “There’s no doubt the upcoming fixture list is tough, but I’m confident this team has the potential to evolve into a true contender in the Superliga.”
With this move, Vejle secure a player who brings both top-flight pedigree and leadership qualities—key assets as they gear up for what promises to be a demanding campaign.
