Chelsea are reportedly willing to sell 11 players this transfer window, with the total fees potentially nearing £500m. The Blues have simultaneously been active on the buying side, completing eight summer signings including Jordan Henderson as their most recent addition.
The summer has already moved at pace under new manager Xabi Alonso. A marquee £117m deal for Morgan Rogers set the tone, followed by Crystal Palace centre-back Maxence Lacroix and the signing of Danny Welbeck, a notable shift away from the club’s youth-focused recruitment model. Henderson’s arrival further reinforced that direction. Valentin Barco, on a switch from Strasbourg, adds squad depth alongside Geovany Quenda, Marco Palestra, and Emmanuel Emegha.
That volume of incomings has left Alonso with a bloated roster. According to The Athletic, up to 11 players could finalise permanent exits before deadline day.
Defensive Exits Lead the Way
Alonso has stated he wants only “four or five” centre-back options, making the defensive department the most obvious area for trimming. Trevoh Chalobah is closing in on a £31m move to Como. Axel Disasi, who spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham United, is available for £25m. Benoit Badiashile carries a £30m valuation. Full-back Malo Gusto is not considered indispensable either, with the club valuing him at £75m.
Midfield and Attack Also on the Table
Enzo Fernandez has been linked with a departure for some time. Chelsea would demand £120m for the Argentine, who arrived from Benfica for £106m in January 2023. Pedro Neto, despite his contributions on the wing, is reportedly not untouchable and has been linked with a £70m exit.
Welbeck’s arrival adds pressure on the striker options. Liam Delap, after a difficult debut season, is among the likeliest to leave, though Chelsea still want a profit on the £30m paid to Ipswich Town last summer. Nicolas Jackson carries a £65m price tag and has attracted interest from Aston Villa after spending last season on loan at Bayern Munich. Marc Guiu, who made 13 appearances last term, has a £25m asking price.
Emegha, valued at £20m by Transfermarkt, already faces an uncertain role at the club despite his recent arrival. David Datro Fofana rounds out the list at £3m.
