Bologna have mutually terminated their arrangement with manager Vincenzo Italiano, the club confirmed on Thursday, as Italian media reports placed him among the candidates to take charge at Napoli.

Italiano joined Bologna in 2024 after his tenure at Fiorentina, and delivered the club’s first Coppa Italia title in 51 years in his opening season. Bologna closed the current Serie A campaign in eighth place and advanced to the Europa League quarter-finals.

Napoli, who finished second in Serie A, confirmed the exit of manager Antonio Conte earlier this week. Italian media have linked both Italiano and former AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri with the vacant position at the Naples club.
