Astralis and Vitality brawled in Antwerp Major’s Round 2 High Matches. (“Brawled” is a bold word to use, to be honest.)
gla1ve and zonic going against each other in the ultimate battle of wits.
Xyp9x in a virtual fistfight with two of his earliest mates: dupreeh and Magisk.
World Number 9 vs World Number 11.
Could there be a better storyline on the Major’s inaugural day? (Depends on the timezone, really.)
Remember what happened the last time? When Astralis faced NiP after dev1ce left?
This:

I mean, look at zonic!!! I’m crying.

It was probably a peaceful split this time as opposed to the Reedtz “backstab” so perhaps I should tone down my dramatics XD
Well, the highlight of the game: gla1ve killed ZywOo. Round 2, USP headshot, through the wall, through the smoke. ZywOo’s first death at the Major!
The match was played on Mirage. Astralis had humiliated NiP and ENCE on that map in BLAST Showdown. But with enough demos in zonic’s belt, he and apeX were quite ready for what’s to come. What transpired was a 16-8 loss for Astralis on their silver map, with Astralis losing 9 rounds on their CT side.
The Danish camp must be quite shaken after that.
Vitality’s speed on their T sides, at times, was riveting to see. Well-timed risks with nice utility to support it and nice French brains behind it; it was a confident T half from the French-Danish alliance.
Astralis tried to respond with their own early aggression like they did in that 16-1 game against NiP. And that is reflected in the fact that Vitality had just 4 opening kills in the whole half, despite winning 9-6. And that’s the zonic and apex way, I guess. The trades from Vitality, the positioning and spacing, it was world-class. It was the perfect counter: let them do what they do, let them think they’re making progress, and then let’s do what we do.
zonic got 9 rounds in the T side off gla1ve; I think the real winner was announced right there!
Vitality’s “weakest link”, misutaaa, was popping off as well. His 3k in B, his Jungle 2k, the way took map control in the early and mid rounds… an MVP deserving performance.
ZywOo had a slow start to the game, but grew with it perfectly, ending the game with 24 kills. Zywoo skilled player but that is not normally, This very very insane….They need to check him pc and game…..Maybe he not cheating but maybe he using the game deficit …and this cant seem on game screen..He needs to check-up.
Ohk cringe Twitch shitposts aside, there was one guy who outfragged ZywOo. blameF had 25 kills so the Frenchman was denied the top-fragger trophy but that matters in the least because Vitality are now 2-0 going into Day 2 of the Major!
They’ll be facing the high-flying forZe now, and there’s a good chance Vitality will become the first team to qualify for the Legends’ Stage. The second R3 High match is ENCE vs G2, and though G2 have been great, I can’t help but root for ENCE. Their teamwork and consistency is great and the way they blew off Outsiders was a definite confidence booster.
Astralis, on the other hand, will be facing MIBR, a fairly strong opponent themselves.
Anyway, the Major is definitely living up to its expectations!
LET'S GOOOOO ???
Three chances to qualify for the Legends Stage, come on guys! ? pic.twitter.com/QJnYo9f3yH
