Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur have entered a transfer tussle for Kim Min-jae, with both Premier League clubs eyeing the South Korean centre-back as he enters the final two years of his contract at Bayern Munich.
A report from German outlet Fussball News names AC Milan and Juventus as additional suitors chasing the 29-year-old defender. All four clubs want to strengthen their backline in one of next year’s two transfer windows and have identified Kim as a priority target. None of the interested parties have opened formal talks yet. They remain in observation mode, tracking his situation in Munich closely. Bayern will ask for a fee between €25 million and €30 million to sanction his exit.
Kim Min-jae’s Bayern Munich journey so far
Kim’s move to Bavaria in July 2023 arrived after a standout spell at Napoli, where he ranked among the most coveted centre-backs on the continent. Consistency has proven elusive since then. He has not replicated the dominant form that made him a hot commodity in Italy, and rotation has limited his role at times.
He logged 2,051 minutes across 37 appearances during the 2025/26 season, contributing one goal and one assist. This term has brought a different rhythm. Kim has missed only two matches, racking up 399 minutes across five outings while adding another assist to his tally.

Premier League move on the horizon?
Aston Villa have tracked Kim since the summer transfer window, and the logic behind their pursuit is straightforward. Victor Lindelof and Tyrone Mings are both past 30 and nearing the tail end of their careers. Pau Torres has dealt with fitness setbacks over the last year. A ready-made upgrade at centre-back would solve multiple problems at once for Villa.
Tottenham’s interest runs just as deep, though timing complicates matters. Spurs added several centre-backs during the summer window and have other areas demanding investment. Pursuing Kim would only make sense if the club first offloads a current defender to create space in the squad and budget.
Bayern’s valuation of €25-30 million looks reasonable given Kim’s contract situation, with only two years remaining. Milan and Juventus joining the race gives the German champions leverage. Expect Bayern to push for the highest bid possible once serious offers start landing on the table.
