Manager of Swedish team Alliance Maria Gunina announced the dates of regular regional leagues and Majors in the next DPC season.
Maria noted that the information she published is official and open.
The Alliance manager reports that the first season will begin November 29. After that, the season will take a Christmas break on December 22 and will continue from January 5. The first DPC season ends on January 23, and the first major will take place from February 17-27.
Second season: March 14 – April 24.
Second Major: May 11 – 21
Third season: June 6th – July 17th
Third Major: August 4th – 14th
Maria stressed that the Major tournaments dates are approximate, and Valve may change it depending on the actual capabilities of the tournament in any given city.
As you can see, Valve is generally glad with the format.
Valve really made it clear that this decision shows that they are satisfied with how the new system performed the first year. However, the community has yet to learn a lot of details regarding slot distribution, number of prizes, etc. Maybe Valve will change a few key mechanisms that will affect how teams get to the Majors. Details will be known in the official announcement.
