It will be one of the last important events of the year. 8 teams will meet in Copenhagen to take a lion’s share of 425.000 dollars prize pool and a spot in BLAST Premier World Final 2022.
The event is devided into 2 stages. First, teams will be split into two groups: FaZe Clan, OG, Heroic, Ninjas in Pyjamas in group A and Natus Vincere, Fluxo, Liquid and G2 in group B. From this double elimination BO3 stage teams will proceed to the playoffs. Group winners qualify straight for the semi finals, while the second and third placed teams go to quarter finals. Playoffs will be played in BO3 single elimination formula.
It will be last chance for the likes of G2, Liquid or OG to actually save their year. Especially G2 has a lot to prove, as they were unable to qualify for the Rio Major. I bet also OG and Liquid will want to show they are capable of winning tournaments. However, I’d say to look for favorites we have to turn for Heroic or Natus Vincere, two highest rated teams in the tournament. We will probably have to wait for next year to see any improvements in FaZe Clan. Although I wouldn’t mind being wrong on this one.
