Injuries Force Changes to Wales Squad
Ben Davies, Kieffer Moore, and Ben Cabango have withdrawn from the Wales squad ahead of their final World Cup qualifying matches against Liechtenstein and North Macedonia.
The Tottenham Hotspur defender Davies, 32, has been sidelined since damaging his hamstring during October’s defeat by Belgium. His absence leaves Wales without a key defender and captain, as regular skipper Aaron Ramsey remains out injured.
Wrexham striker Moore, 33, was also named in the initial squad but sustained an injury during his club’s Championship win over Charlton Athletic last Saturday. He has been replaced by uncapped Cardiff City forward Isaak Davies.
Swansea City defender Cabango’s withdrawal further depletes Wales’ defensive options. Queens Park Rangers left-back Rhys Norrington-Davies has been called up to replace Davies.
Upcoming Matches
Wales will face Liechtenstein at the Rheinpark Stadion in Vaduz on Saturday, 15 November, with kick-off at 17:00 GMT. The team will then host North Macedonia the following Tuesday.
Coverage of the matches will be available on iPlayer, BBC One Wales, BBC Sounds, BBC Radio Wales and Radio Cymru, the BBC Sport website and app, plus live text commentary.
