Vitality’s dominant march through the first half of 2025 may have suffered a hiccup at the BLAST.tv Austin Major, but one remarkable streak remains untouched — their streak in best-of-threes and best-of-fives. And it’s not just surviving — it’s historic.

After crashing out of BLAST Bounty Season 1 Finals in mid-January with a loss to Eternal Fire, Dan “⁠apEX⁠” Madesclaire’s international powerhouse rebounded with ruthless efficiency. The squad stormed through the next four months with 30 straight victories across all formats, a run that ended only after a shock best-of-one defeat to Legacy on Inferno in their Major opener.

But that BO1 loss didn’t touch their BO3+ streak. Once the group stage concluded, Vitality flipped the switch and cruised through the Major playoffs without dropping a series, adding more fuel to an already searing hot record.

Where Does the BO3+ Streak Rank?

At the top — literally.

While Ninjas in Pyjamas’ iconic 87-map win streak from 2012-2013 often gets the headlines, it was padded with best-of-one wins in a different era. Vitality’s streak is forged in the fire of full series — BO3s and BO5s — and that gives it a distinct edge in today’s more competitive CS2 landscape.

The only team that comes close? Team Liquid in 2019. That NA superteam carved through five LAN events — including ESL One Cologne and IEM Chicago — before finally falling to Astralis at the StarLadder Berlin Major semis. Even so, their BO3+ streak capped at 20. Vitality are already well beyond that.

Meanwhile, the likes of Astralis (2018–2019), Na’Vi (post-COVID), and G2 (2022–2023) trail behind. Their records are impressive, but often interrupted by best-of-one landmines, LAN gaps, or occasional stumbles. FaZe’s CS2 early run ties with Astralis, but they too couldn’t maintain the relentless consistency Vitality now showcases.

What’s Next for Vitality?

With IEM Cologne on the horizon — a tournament known for deep brackets and a grand final BO5 — the path is clear for Vitality to etch their dominance even deeper into the annals of CS2 history.
