Max Holloway vs Charles Oliveira 2: The Rematch
When Holloway and Oliveira first met in 2015, both fighters were still building their reputations inside the Octagon.
Holloway stopped the Brazilian in just over ninety seconds after Oliveira was forced to quit due to injury. At the time it looked like just another win for the rising Hawaiian.
Fast forward to 2026 and the stakes are far bigger.
Both fighters have since become champions, fan favorites, and future Hall of Fame contenders. Now they meet again with the BMF belt on the line.
Between them they have fought more than 80 professional MMA bouts, and despite being 34 and 36 respectively, both remain among the most dangerous fighters in the sport.
Max Holloway Record and Career
Max Holloway (27-8) has been competing in the UFC since 2012 and holds numerous company records.
The Hawaiian legend owns the featherweight records for wins, finishes, knockouts, significant strikes, total strikes, win streak, and total fight time. His relentless pace and striking output have made him one of the most exciting fighters in UFC history.
Holloway became UFC featherweight champion in 2017 when he knocked out Jose Aldo. He defended the belt three times against Aldo, Brian Ortega, and Frankie Edgar before losing the title to Alexander Volkanovski in 2019.
After several high-profile battles, Holloway captured the BMF title with a stunning knockout victory over Justin Gaethje in one of the most memorable fights of recent years.
He later rebounded from a loss to Ilia Topuria by defending the BMF belt against Dustin Poirier in July 2025.
Charles Oliveira Record and Career
Charles Oliveira (36-11, 1 NC) has been part of the UFC roster since 2010 and holds the record for the most submission wins in promotional history.
The Brazilian submission specialist captured the lightweight title in 2021 by defeating Michael Chandler for the vacant belt.
He successfully defended it once against Dustin Poirier but later lost the title on the scales after missing weight for a scheduled defense against Justin Gaethje.
Oliveira has remained a top contender ever since, facing elite opposition including Islam Makhachev, Arman Tsarukyan, and Ilia Topuria.
Most recently, he bounced back from a knockout loss to Topuria with a submission victory over Mateusz Gamrot in Brazil.
Now “Do Bronx” returns looking to add another highlight to an already legendary career.
