The Minnesota Timberwolves are actively assessing the trade value of several assets as free agency approaches. According to HoopsHype‘s Michael Scotto, Minnesota has sounded out the market on Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, and its No. 28 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic previously reported that the Timberwolves were expected to enter the bidding for Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, having already made an attempt to acquire him before the Feb. 5 trade deadline.
Randle is under contract through next season on a three-year extension worth $100 million signed in June 2025. He is set to earn $33.3 million in 2026-27, with a $35.8 million player option for 2027-28, per Spotrac.
In his second year alongside Anthony Edwards, Randle averaged 21.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game while shooting 48.1 percent from the field during the regular season. His playoff performance was a different story: 12.8 points and 7.7 rebounds per game on 34.2/19.0/73.1 shooting splits in Minnesota‘s second-round exit against the San Antonio Spurs.
DiVincenzo played all 82 regular-season games but suffered a torn Achilles in the first round, ending his postseason early. The 29-year-old had put together a solid campaign, averaging 12.2 points per night while shooting 37.9 percent from three on 7.9 attempts per game.
With just one season remaining on his contract before unrestricted free agency, DiVincenzo‘s availability for next year remains uncertain as he recovers from surgery. That timeline complicates his trade value but does not eliminate it.
Should the Timberwolves push to land a star of Antetokounmpo‘s caliber, both Randle and DiVincenzo figure to be central pieces in any package Minnesota puts together. Stay with TipsGG for the latest as this situation develops heading into free agency.
