South Korea Names Six-Player League of Legends Roster for Asian Games 2026

18.05.2026, 05:07

KeSPA (Korea eSports Association) officially revealed South Korea‘s national League of Legends roster for the Asian Games 2026 on May 18, 2026. The six players were handpicked from three LCK teams based on performance over the past few months, with final approval from the Korean Sports Council Performance Improvement Committee scheduled for June.

According to a post on the Korea Esports Instagram account, KeSPA selected the following players and coach after the Performance Improvement Committee conducted interviews with candidates:

  • Top lane: Choi “Zeus” Woo-je (Hanwha Life Esports)
  • Jungler: Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu (Gen.G)
  • Mid: Kim “Zeka” Geon-woo (Hanwha Life Esports)
  • Mid: Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok (T1)
  • ADC: Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyung (Hanwha Life Esports)
  • Support: Ryu “Keria” Min-seok (T1)
  • Coach: Kang “Hirai” Dong-hoon (currently no team)

Key Storylines Behind the Selection

Three of the six players come from Hanwha Life Esports (Zeus, Zeka, and Gumayusi), the team currently sitting in first place in the LCK 2026 Regular Season standings. T1‘s mid laner Faker earns his third Asian Games appearance, having claimed a silver medal in 2018 and gold in 2023.

T1‘s support Keria and Gen.G‘s jungler Canyon round out the roster. That means four members of the 2023 and 2024 LoL Worlds-winning T1 squad are on this team (Zeus, Faker, Keria, and Gumayusi), with only Oner left out. The reunion of the GumayusiKeria bot lane duo is a notable draw for fans of both players.

On the coaching side, Hirai‘s inclusion is a surprise. His last managed team was KT Rolster in 2024, and he has been inactive since.

What Comes Next

The roster still requires formal sign-off from the Korean Sports Council Performance Improvement Committee in June, though the delay is procedural rather than substantive. The League of Legends event at the Asian Games is scheduled for September. Stay with TipsGG for full coverage as the tournament approaches.
