Omar Marmoush Agrees Loan Move to Tottenham Hotspur with £50M Obligation Clause

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a loan deal to sign Manchester City attacker Omar Marmoush, with the move expected to be completed after the Egyptian international travels to London for his medical on Monday.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the agreement, which includes a conditional obligation clause worth £50 million. Marmoush, 27, is set to formally complete the transfer once he passes his medical checks at the North London club.

How Marmoush Fared at Manchester City

Marmoush joined Eintracht Frankfurt for £59 million in January 2025 and quickly adapted to Premier League football, becoming one of City’s brighter performers in the second half of the 2024/25 season. The 2025/26 campaign told a different story. Despite his positional versatility, he slipped down the pecking order and managed fewer than 1,500 minutes across 36 appearances in all competitions, contributing eight goals and three assists.

His market value has stayed intact, and the loan move to Spurs gives him a platform to return to consistent first-team football.

Why Tottenham Moved for Marmoush

Spurs had targeted Marmoush in the winter window but could not finalize a deal at that stage. The need for attacking reinforcement has only grown since. Randal Kolo Muani returned to Paris Saint-Germain at the end of his loan spell before moving to Juventus earlier this summer, leaving a clear gap in the squad. Dominic Solanke, signed from Bournemouth, has struggled with persistent fitness issues and is yet to establish himself as a reliable option. With Richarlison’s future at the club also uncertain, bringing in a striker became a priority.
